Alan Moore

When the NME asked me if I wanted to shoot Alan Moore I was a little more than excited. Alan is literally a living legend. Creator of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,
V for Vendetta,
From Hell and of course
Watchmen. I had 10 minutes inside and 10 outside. We chatted about how ace we both thought Tilda Swinton is. I really love her in Constantine. I digress.
The first frame I shot both in and out doors, I knew where
the shots. I then spent 9 minutes either side getting options for the magazine. But in the end, they actually ran with the very first shot I took (see below).
Alan has such a powerful presence that you really don't have to shoot him with a complex set up. The below was one light, the others natural light. We actually shot in a music studio, very limited in terms of location, but they had this acient wall in one room, and a lovely outdoor area, so I used those.
